David Kordansky established his gallery in Los Angeles in 2003 with the desire both to discover and to engage with the vastly diverse group of artists living and working in the city. The gallery not only showcases individual artists, but also aims to present the dialogue, both implicit and explicit, between them. David Kordansky Gallery has quickly grown from focusing on emerging art to an internationally recognized program featuring artists who exhibit in acclaimed museums and galleries worldwide. The program increasingly includes artists from different generations and locales, so that a variety of historical lineages and cultural perspectives enter into conversation with one another, and the gallery further contributes to the dynamic cross pollination of ideas between Los Angeles and other global centers. In 2014, the gallery opened a new 20,000 square foot facility in Los Angeles, allowing it to continue expanding its ambitious program of solo, group, and historical exhibitions.
