Senior Editor, Frieze Studios

We are looking for a Senior Editor to join our Frieze Studios team to oversee the production of written content to ensure all copy commissioned or written in house by Frieze Studios and by the Branded Content team maintains consistency with Frieze tone of voice.

Who We Are Looking For

Working closely with the Studios Creative Lead and the Branded Content Creative Lead, this role oversees the production of written content to ensure all copy commissioned or written in house by Frieze Studios and by the Branded Content team maintains consistency with Frieze tone of voice. 

The role supports and contributes to the content creation for all issues of Frieze Week (four per year) and for Frieze Masters Magazine (1 issue per year), and will be responsible for the copy writing and commissioning of digital copy and articles connected to sponsored and branded projects to be published on Frieze’s channels. 

 

Responsibilities Include But Not Limited to

  • Contribute editorial concepts and oversee commissions from the initial ideas until final layout for Frieze Week, Frieze Masters mag, and ad hoc editorial projects
  • Ensuring image research and clearance, copy editing and sign off for above-outlined content is completed
  • Develop copy for Frieze Studios creative proposals and carry out required research, collating information, and imagery to strengthen presentations and pitches
  • Write effective and engaging social media copy in connection to all Studios and Branded Content projects
  • Create and commission articles for brand related projects across all Frieze media channels, including Frieze.com, Frieze Week, and bespoke brand publications and online editorial
  • Write in house articles to amplify Frieze fairs programming year around and upload content on Frieze’s website
  • Contribute editorial concepts and ideas for content led newsletters year around and act as primary liaison with marketing and VIP for the publication of content
  • Be the primary liaison with the Web Manager and the Web Coordinator to ensure Studios and Branded Content pages are up to date and presented in compelling and reader friendly ways
  • Be the primary liaison with the frieze magazine editorial team
  • Manage and coordinate the delivery of multiple editorial pieces and content strands from conception to completion in accordance with deadlines
  • Contribute to video content scripting and occasionally feature in Frieze branded videos

 

You Will Have The Following Strengths

  • Create successful editorial content for clients, sponsor, and for the Frieze brand
  • Ensure you deliver all content within provided deadlines and budget
  • Strong experience within a related environment such as a commercial gallery, museum, international art fair or publication
  • A deep knowledge and understanding of the contemporary art world
  • Demonstrable experience of successfully producing editorial content

We’d Love If You Also Have These

  • Ability to create impressive editorial content based on original ideas
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the confidence to speak in public and in front of a camera
  • Active engagement with current debates and trends in art and other creative sectors
  • Proven ability to commission editors, writers and designers to deliver print and digital editorial projects.

Working Conditions

  • This is a permanent position.
  • Please note this role will be based at our offices in Surrey Street, London.
  • Working hours are 10:00 – 18:00, Monday to Friday, with some flexibility on remote working as appropriate
  • May be required to attend (and travel to) locations, including other IMG buildings and meetings
  • Unsocial hours may be required, as dictated by the demands of the business schedule
  • Adapting to use of new systems and technology where appropriate
